Spent the afternoon at this bar....
Drinkin Vodka and Cranberry.....
at this bar.
Because the winds were predicted to be 20 knots, and because the docks were FREE  we stayed here two days
This is the Bar, at Chesapeake City, that is THE place to go on weekends.
6/23/07
To catch the tides right, so they would be in our favor going down the  55 miles of the Delaware River, we had to leave Chesapeake City one hour before High Tide at Reed Island, or 5:30 am our time... see the sunrise.
The Delaware has LOTS of ship traffic, so we went out of the shipping lanes, direct to Cape May.
As it turned out, the weather and tides stayed with us all the way down and we arrived in New Jersey, 6 hours later.

After a LONG day of extremely shallow ICW channels, we Anchored for the nite in an exposed area off Ocean City. We did not go ashore.
6/23/07
The day ended at an anchorage in Wildwood,, where we met Lisa and Paul and had a great dinner at the world famous Lobster House, in Cape May
6/24/07

The homes along the shoreline have changed alot, looking more "up northish" Kind of New England ish.
6/25/07
The morning started with drizzling rain, so we waited till 11 to depart. I was NOT looking forward to another day of unmanaged shallow NJICW!
No boating till high tide.
lots of NO WAKE zones here. With the shallow waters and no wake zones, very SLOW going.
It took us 4 hours to travel 12 miles.
also several bridges to slow our progress
The type of homes on the waterway changed again
The closer to Atlantic City we got,  the worse the houses were.
The there were these pipes spewing poluted water in the NJICW
We arrived in Atlantic City @ Gardners Basin Marina just as the sun was breaking thru the high overcast.
Gardners is the city marina, located at the Aquarium (the brown bldg. in the background)
I hadn't been  to Atlantic City since the Pre Casino Days.. it has changed alot!
Took the $2 jitney ride to the casino's, right from the Marina
The boardwalk
Thanks to Donald, my $20 allotted for slots turned into $350.  Thanks Donny! I immediately quit playing.
They have a claming fleet located at the basin. Strange looking rigging on the back.
The aft deck view. The yellow bldg continually changed colors and designs
Wind power for the lights of Atlantic City
6/26/07
A long VERY SHALLOW travel day. Anchord on Tom's river out of the wind. No pics, too busy watching the depth finder.
5/27/07
It was a short easy run to Belmar, so we got a slip, and went shopping for food and West Marine
6/27/07
Today's weather forcast is to turn windy and thunderstorms this afternoon, so we did an early start on our offshore run to New York City!
Out the inlet, past the beaches, and we heading towards the Big Apple.
New York harbor is a very busy place! All those dots on the radar are boats and ferrys and ships!
We were the small , tiny golfish in a HUGE crowded pond
The clearence on the bridges was 200 feet, to make room for the ships
The NJICW
Miss Liberty and Elis Island, quite striking.... but then........
This VERY Tacky barge with cows on it ?was right in front of the statue, filming a commercial. shame on them!
"New York, New York"
Got a slip at Libery Landing Marina, $4.50 a ft. per nite, but what a view!
This clock guarded the entrance to the marina
It's a $5 P/P taxi ride to the city
This was the only view of the towers 911 site I could see, taken from the overhead walkway to the subway.. It was still quite moving.
NY subways are pretty much just like I imagined, but smaller, very crowed. No in the subway looks at you. No one talks, wierd.
Times Square, North and south. Advertisements were everywhere!
6/28/07
I am glad I stopped at NY, but doubt I would do it again. I think next time I will get a marina north of NY, and take an express train down the Hudson rivers edge for the day. The trains run along the Hudson River Banks for a gorgeous ride.
Heading north up the Hudson, this is the Empire State Building, not as impressive from out here on the H20
This is a driving range
Passing Yonkers Ny
We passed several of these barges full of trash heading to the ocean to dump. Ironic, they enforce boaters for pumpouts, but dump trash in our oceans.. that sucks!
This was a very significant part of our trip, the George Washington Bridge. As I crossed under, I called Boat US, my Insurance company, and because of my new location, my yearly rate dropped from $3,000 a year to $600. Floridians are paying for those hurricanes.
North of the city , New York is very pretty.
This is where we got a slip, on the Hudson.
6/30/07
On the way to Kingston NY.
This stretch of water has been the prettiest yet.
This is exactly what an alligator looks like while swimming, but it's a log.
The Hudson is incredible!
Trains run right along the river bank at the base of the mountains. Next time, I will stay up here, and commute to NY by train.
West Point, a fortress
Ruins from a castle on an island
This light house guards the entrance to the creek to Kingston
These water cops we helping this guy fix his boat, what a refreshing change.
Florida cops take note:

We anchored just past the town , nestled between these "hills"
Went exporing in the dink and discoverd these falls, just upstream from us.
Kingston was having a jazz fest and fireworks show, so we decided to stay an extra day at the anchorage
145 ft. deep!
It was possibly the best fireworks show I have ever seen, bar none! They shot the fireworks from the bridge.
7/2/07
Woke up to a COLD sunny morning, and we had a long 61 mile day in front of us.
It was so cold on the boat, I din't take many pictures, but I did see what a though was an alligator....
turned out to be a log , though.
The last lock before the Erie, I spotted one the canal charter boats.
Finally, the Erie Canal!
Waterford, at the mouth of the Erie, is well know for it's free docks(two day limit) and gracious city.
The angels were with us, we got the last space left.
It was time to provision, so I rented a car for two days (had to , it was A WEEKEND) did wall mart, super mart, and my personal favorite, Kieltys's bar.
